In response to the urgent humanitarian needs of Operation Allies Welcome, Beachview Logistics (BVL) was entrusted with one of the most complex and time-sensitive missions in our company’s history: to establish a fully operational base camp capable of housing and supporting 5,000 Afghan refugees—in just 8 days.

Turnkey BASE Camp Solutions: 5,000 Guests in 8 Days

Despite what initially seemed like an impossible timeline, our team rapidly mobilized and, by September 7, 2021, had fully built and operationalized a comprehensive camp at Marine Corps Base Quantico, just 8 days after award. The project encompassed full turnkey base camp services, including:

  • Sleeping tents with linens and HVAC systems

  • Four fully staffed DFACs serving Halal-compliant meals

  • Potable water and pumping services

  • Waste management, power generation, and fueling

  • Mobile restrooms, showers, handwashing stations, and laundry

  • Mobile offices and operational infrastructure

  • Winterization and remediation services

In total, over 2.38 million meals were served during the camp’s nearly six-month operation. At its peak, the project supported 1,086 full-time personnel, working around the clock to meet every logistical, cultural, and humanitarian need.

mission impact

Serving a displaced population presented more than logistical challenges—it required cultural sensitivity and adaptability. Recognizing the language and cultural barriers, Beachview Logistics deployed multiple on-site translators and worked closely with partners to ensure respectful and effective communication with Afghan guests. From dietary needs to prayer accommodations, our team remained fully committed to fostering a safe and dignified environment for all.
